To our friends and family:

That sizzle reel has some of my favorite moments from principal photography on “Fuck ‘Em We Ball,” a film written and directed by me, Ari Feldman, and produced by Nora Kaye.

The film is inspired by a friend’s high school lore, but draws deeply from my own personal history, balancing poignant drama with goofball comedy.

With the tournament cancelled, the team’s captain must convince their coach — his withdrawn father, sidelined by depression — to give them the flags, and let them play.

Production wrapped a few days before Thanksgiving. Now, the long post-production process begins.

We had so much fun, as perhaps you can tell from these behind-the-scenes pictures taken by our cast and crew.

Now, we are fundraising.

Building on a $10,000 grant from Brooklyn College’s Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema, we are seeking $25,000 in order to support:

  • Our amazing cast: $8,300

  • Professionals — like our casting director, post-production supervisor and Steadicam operator — who have already helped push this film towards success: $3,500

  • Catering and craft services: $4,000

  • Camera and logistics equipment: $3,500

  • Color grading, sound design and sound mixing: $4,000

  • Festival applications and marketing: $1,700

Here’s the best part:

All donations are fully tax deductible.

We have fiscal sponsorship from a Queens-based nonprofit, the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning.

They will accept donations on our behalf and provide us the funding, minus a fee for their services.
